Inspiring Young Minds: Innovation & Robotics Workshop at MCS Public School
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Surana College, Peenya, in collaboration with MCS Public School, Chamrajnagara, organized a MOE Sponsored Hand Holding Activity Workshop under the Mentor-Mentee Scheme on 5th August 2025. The event brought together curious young learners and passionate mentors to explore the fascinating world of innovation and robotics.
A Day of Learning and Inspiration
The workshop was designed to inspire students to transform ideas into reality while introducing them to the concepts of intelligent machines and robotics. More than 60 enthusiastic participants attended, gaining insights into the exciting possibilities that STEM education can open up.
The sessions included:
- 1. The Innovation Journey: From Idea to Reality
Students learned how creative ideas can be turned into practical solutions, supported by real-world examples and innovation strategies
- 2. A Journey into Robotics: Discover the World of Intelligent Machines
This session introduced the fundamentals of robotics, highlighting how intelligent systems are shaping the future of technology and automation
Both sessions encouraged active participation, curiosity, and problem-solving—ensuring that students didn’t just learn but also imagined, questioned, and created.
Engaging Resource Persons
The sessions were led by Mr. Shashikumar A (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Surana Educational Institutions) and Ms. Bhavya S, who shared their expertise through interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and practical insights.
• Mr. Shashikumar A is a certified Innovation Ambassador with specialization in Accounting and Taxation. With extensive teaching and mentoring experience, he has been instrumental in guiding students through innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic research.
Their mentorship helped students connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications, strengthening the mentor-mentee bond between institutions.
A Platform for Curiosity
One of the most engaging moments was the Q&A session, where students eagerly asked questions on topics such as startup fundraising, government initiatives for entrepreneurs, and the role of ME-RIISE in supporting new ventures. Their enthusiasm highlighted a growing curiosity about entrepreneurship and innovation.
