To conceptualize, design, and implement a strategic development roadmap for the institution that ensures academic excellence, infrastructure enhancement, and holistic institutional growth in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, affiliating university guidelines, and accreditation frameworks.
Responsibilities
Formulate and periodically revise the Institution Development Plan based on current academic, infrastructural, and administrative needs.
Identify key development areas such as teaching-learning, research, infrastructure, ICT, industry linkage, internationalization, and student support.
Engage stakeholders (management, faculty, students, alumni, industry) for feedback and suggestions on institutional growth.
Coordinate with departments and committees for implementation of proposed initiatives.
Prepare proposals for funding, grants, and collaborations aligned with the development goals.
Monitor progress and submit regular updates on the implementation of IDP components.
Things to Consider
Ensure the IDP is aligned with the Vision and Mission of the institution.
Integrate goals of sustainability, inclusivity, digital transformation, and innovation.
Incorporate short-term and long-term measurable targets with clear timelines.
Use data from academic audits, stakeholder feedback, NAAC/NBA reports, and other assessments to inform planning.
Promote participatory decision-making across departments and units.
Protocols to be Followed
Use the Institution Development Plan Committee seal on all official documents, reports, and correspondence.
Develop a comprehensive IDP document every three to five years, with annual reviews and updates.
Conduct regular stakeholder consultations, brainstorming sessions, and surveys to collect input.
Draft and approve development proposals in collaboration with the management and IQAC.
Submit quarterly and annual implementation reports to the Principal, Governing Body, and IQAC.
Maintain a dashboard or tracker of ongoing initiatives, budget allocation, timelines, and responsible units.
Coordinate with the Finance, Infrastructure, and Academic Committees for smooth execution of development activities.
Document outcomes, challenges, and best practices in each development cycle.
Submit monthly meeting records and progress updates by the 5th of every month.
Ensure the IDP outcomes are published in institutional reports and showcased during accreditations, inspections, and university reviews.
